Shipping Coordinator

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Shipping Coordinator to join JBS in New Century, KS. This position is responsible for the unloading of inbound dry bulk materials and the loading of shipping containers for overseas transportation.  This is accomplished through various conveying equipment, and some manual labor methods.  All equipment maintenance is done in-house and a strong mechanical aptitude is a plus.  Any material handling machine experience (forklift/yard hostler) is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Drive yard hostler and utilize other equipment (On-site training provided)
• Unload rail cars to shipment containers
• Stage containers for pick up
• Move rail cars
• Utilize knowledge of hand tools and fasteners
• Lift 40-50lbs to chest level, multiple times per day
• Comfortability with temperature (although the work is inside of a warehouse, this position is subject to outside temperatures)
• Comfortable around heavy equipment and many moving parts
• Follow directions – safety is a must
• Keep positive temperament in stressful situations
• General labor
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Must have strong multi-tasking and prioritization ability
• Acute attention to detail
• Ability to commit to long hours and possible weekends if necessary (minimum 40hrs/wk with overtime often required)
• Logistics experience preferred but not required
• Strong sense of urgency, and a “get-it-done” mentality
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation 

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

• Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
• Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
• 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
• Base salary of $20/hr;

The posted salary range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the compensation that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, tenure, internal equity, market data, and may vary accordingly.
