Real Estate Associate

About the Role:

A leading international law firm is seeking a Real Estate Associate with at least 3 years of commercial real estate finance experience to join its Dallas office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to build a sophisticated real estate practice while working on complex financing, acquisition, disposition, and development transactions across a variety of asset classes.

The successful candidate will primarily focus on real estate secured finance matters representing lenders and borrowers in commercial real estate transactions. In addition, the attorney will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of real estate matters involving acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development projects, and asset management issues.

This role offers substantial responsibility, meaningful client interaction, and direct collaboration with experienced real estate attorneys. Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate mortgage loan documents and related financing agreements.
  • Represent lenders and borrowers in commercial real estate finance transactions.
  • Manage title, survey, zoning, and other real estate due diligence matters.
  • Review leases, development agreements, and project-related documentation.
  • Analyze corporate organizational documents and assist with mortgage loan enforceability opinions.
  • Coordinate transaction closings and manage closing deliverables.
  • Work directly with loan servicers, title companies, borrowers, lenders, and other transaction participants.
  • Assist with acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, and other complex real estate transactions.
  • Conduct legal due diligence and identify transaction-related risks.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through responsive and practical legal counsel.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial real estate finance transactional experience.
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating real estate financing documentation.
  • Experience handling title, survey, and other real estate due diligence matters.
  • Texas Bar admission and good standing.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and competing deadlines.
  • Strong business judgment and commitment to client service excellence.
