We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and highly organized freelance personal chef to support a private client in New York City.
This role will be responsible for preparing a portion of the client’s weekly meal plan, with meals prepared off-site in the chef’s own kitchen/home and delivered to the client fully prepared, portioned, packaged, labeled, and ready to store /consume.
Schedule & Weekly Volume
Sunday delivery for meals to be consumed Monday through Wednesday
The client receives 3 meals per day , for a total of approximately 9 individual meals per Sunday delivery
The delivery may also include approximately 9 individual portions of sides, sauces, snacks, or supplemental items , depending on the weekly menu
Be available Monday through Wednesday to accommodate reasonable last-minute requests or adjustments from the client when feasible/executable
Maintain responsive communication regarding any last-minute request and promptly confirm whether it can be accommodated
Scope of Work
Responsibilities include:
Preparing approximately 9 individual meals per week , based on the assigned Monday–Wednesday menu
Preparing approximately 9 individual side portions or supplemental items , depending on the weekly menu
Preparing all meals according to the client’s recipes, dietary requirements, portion sizes, and instructions
Reviewing the weekly menu and creating a complete, organized grocery/order list for a designated purchaser to execute
Clearly specifying quantities, brands, sizes, substitutions, and other purchasing details as needed
Receiving and properly storing ingredients and groceries needed for meal preparation
Preparing and cooking all meals in your own kitchen
Accurately weighing and portioning food according to the client’s requirements
Taking clear photos documenting food weights and portions, as accuracy is very important to the client
Packaging meals in the designated containers
Clearly labeling all meals for the week, sides, sauces, and other components
Properly storing prepared meals prior to delivery
Delivering the complete Sunday order directly to the client in New York City
Communicating directly and professionally with the client through WhatsApp
Providing updates, answering questions, coordinating changes, and confirming deliveries
Handling all administrative and organizational tasks associated with your portion of the weekly meal service
Compensation
This is a part-time freelance / 1099 independent contractor position .
Applicants should provide an all-inclusive rate for the complete weekly scope of work .
The quoted rate must include all labor and services associated with the role, including menu review, preparation of purchasing lists, food preparation, cooking, weighing, portioning, photography/documentation, packaging, labeling, storage, administrative work, client communication, coordination, delivery, and reasonable Monday–Wednesday last-minute support when feasible.
