• This successful candidate will join as a member of the Division Finance Team, the finance business partners at American Airlines.
• Joining the IT Finance team, you’ll be evaluating business cases, partnering with both the business and IT, and having strategic conversations around technology investments and business value realization.

What you'll do

• Lead a team of analysts to support the development and execution of enterprise strategies, plans, objectives, and procedures
• Provide financial guidance and strategic recommendations to business partners and senior leadership to support informed decision‑making
• Ensure strong financial discipline and governance aligned to corporate objectives, including ownership of core controllership activities (close, forecast, and reconciliations)
• Design, implement, and integrate processes and procedures using best practices, with a focus on continuous improvement and scalability
• Ensure business planning objectives are embedded in technology, business, and human capital investment decisions
• Strengthen alignment between business processes, information technology, and organizational priorities
• Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and cross‑functional outcomes
• Manage cross‑functional relationships to align stakeholders, negotiate requirements and deliverables, and drive execution toward shared goals
• Coordinate and forecast human capital needs in alignment with initiative and organizational demand
• Perform other duties as required

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• MBA or equivalent experience/training
• Experience supervising financial staff
• 5 years’ experience in Finance and/or Accounting, plus exposure to information technology
• Experience with human capital tracking and forecasting
• Experience with budget tracking, variance reporting, and cost analysis experience with budget tracking, variance reporting, and cost analysis

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with concentration in Finance/Accounting/Business or Data Analytics
• Automation and process re-design a plus, leveraging modern technology

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

• Experience with process mapping and writing
• Experience with sensitivity and gap analysis
• Experience with
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and data visualization tools
• Working knowledge of Alteryx, Python/R, SAP, Hyperion Essbase, PowerAutomate, Copilot Studio, and/or RPA tools a plus
• Ability to build and make presentations to senior management
• Excellent analytical skills
