Griffin Resources is recruiting for a Logistics Coordinator on behalf of Heinemann Americas, Inc. located in Coral Gables, FL.

Position Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator  is responsible for executing, coordinating international and domestic Inbound and Outbound shipments from A through Z. Responsible for tracking orders from origin to destination, validate that goods are received on the desired expected delivery date and in full as per Purchase Order details and creating Inbound and Outbound orders on SAP. Applicants should be familiar with import/export logistics practices and regulations with different modes of transportation. In addition, the applicant should have functional knowledge of supply chain management, the ability to problem-solve, work independently, as well as cross-functionally, and be driven to improve service in logistics are essential. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitor, track, and communicate the progress of inbound/outbound shipments to ensure efficient and timely updates
• Lead meetings
• Create reports and presentations
• Schedule transportation vs. budget
• Work with 3PL customs department (foreign trade zone - FTZ)
• Proactively address shipping discrepancies with vendors
• Communicate shipment updates with supply planning, buyers, customer service, and 3PL
• Daily follow-up with service providers and vendors regarding shipment status
• Validate purchase orders and freight invoices from vendors and service providers
• Issue advance ship notices (ASN)
• Enter and update shipments in logistics system (SAP)
• Correspond with 3PL warehouse to solve receiving issues
• Prepare and publish daily and weekly reports related to inbound shipments
• Identify and implement internal process improvements and new ideas to maximize service
• Develop best practice for import logistics processes

Financial Responsibilities:

• Validate and approve invoices from outbound service providers
• Make Initial Notification of Claim to the Carrier 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration
• 4-6 years’ experience in supply chain logistics and customer service highly preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of Import and Export Regulations from US Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) and other international locations preferred
• Knowledge of US Harmonized Code Tariff Schedule
• Strong ERP knowledge (SAP knowledge preferred)
• Basic knowledge of BEx Analyzer-BW/BI (preferred)
• Proven ability to decisively resolve issues
• Good verbal and written English communication skills
• MS Office – proficient MS Excel skills required
• Ability to understand and analyze basic data/reports
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, “self-starter” environment
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Excellent time management skills
• Team-player with excellent relationship-building
