The Logistics & Commercial Analyst is the analytical and decision-support function for Mesabi Metallics’ Commercial and Logistics organization. The role analyzes pricing, shipment, inventory, contract and logistics information, explains what the results mean, and recommends actions that inform commercial decisions, S&OP planning, freight and settlement outcomes, and management reporting. This position owns provisional pricing and mark-to-market analysis for open shipments. It decides how pricing and exposure positions are assessed and presented, and leads pricing/netback and landed-cost analysis. The Analyst uses independent judgment to evaluate contract performance, logistics efficiency and settlement accuracy, and to decide which discrepancies are material and how to resolve them. The Analyst works closely with the Manager – Commercial & Market Strategy – North America, Sales and Operational Planning (“S&OP”), Rail and Marine Logistics, Finance and external service providers.

Job Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this position will be responsible for the following:

· Ensure integrity of shipment, volume, inventory, pricing and logistics data. Evaluate exceptions and data-quality issues, decide how serious they are,and decide on corrective action.

· Analyze provisional and final pricing outcomes and own mark-to-market reporting for open shipments and commercial positions. Interpret exposure and advise the CCO on pricing risk.

· Select, validate and maintain the pricing indices, pellet premiums, freight inputs and historical market data that underpin commercial analysis and assumptions.

· Develop pricing, netback, landed-cost and other commercial analyses, and present conclusions and recommendations to the CCO and Manager –Commercial & Market Strategy – North America to support pricing and sales decisions.

· Monitor contract drawdown, customer volumes and delivery status against commitments. Identify risks to contract performance and recommend actions.

· Evaluate logistics KPIs, including railcar utilization/cycle time, terminal throughput, demurrage and service performance. Diagnose root causes and recommend operational or commercial improvements.

· Review freight invoices, settlements, demurrage/despatch claims and supporting records. Assess validity, decide which discrepancies to dispute, and work with carriers, terminals and service providers to resolve them.

· Lead weight/quality reconciliation, analyze surveyor/lab results and shipment certification data, and assess their commercial impact on settlements.

· Design and prepare S&OP data packs, dashboards and management reports. Carry out ad hoc analysis to support commercial and logistics decisions.

· Reconcile contract commitments, provisional/final settlements and open commercial actions. Carry out market and competitor research and turn the findings into recommendations for commercial strategy.

Skills and Qualifications:

 • 3+ years of analytical, commercial, logistics, finance, supply chain or related experience; mining, commodities or industrial experience preferred.
• Advanced spreadsheet and data-analysis skills with strong attention to detail and data quality.
• Understanding of pricing, freight, settlement, shipment or contract data and the ability to assess and resolve discrepancies.
• Strong analytical writing, reporting and communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to decision-makers.
• Ability to manage recurring reporting requirements and ad hoc analysis in a fast-paced environment.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Supply Chain, Data Analytics or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements:
Primarily office-based with regular use of a laptop, desk, phone and other standard office equipment. Periodic site or terminal visits may be required and may involve use of appropriate PPE.

Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Winners Circle Incentive: A bi-weekly incentive, calculated as a percentage of bi-weekly wages (base pay plus overtime) and paid in the same paycheck. It is tied to the site's production of safe, quality tonnes, measured on Safety, Quality and Tons (SQT).

• Construction Phase (launch of the new compensation structure through October 30, 2026): paid at the 70% target level.
• Ramp Up Phase (October 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027): calculated against achievable production targets measured by the hour.
• Optimization Phase (from April 1, 2027): tied to bi-weekly production targets.
