Job Description

Kaleidoscope Affect, LLC is expanding our bench of experienced leadership development trainers and facilitators to support current and anticipated client engagements across the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

We are looking for accomplished facilitators who know how to work with experienced adult professionals—not simply present slides. Our facilitators create engaging learning environments, draw on participants' experience, guide difficult discussions, use realistic scenarios and practice, and help learners translate concepts into workplace behavior.

Assignments may support Federal, Department of Defense, state and local government, public-sector, and other complex organizations. Engagements are scheduled based on client demand and may include full-day and multi-day onsite programs as well as virtual delivery.

This is a part-time, variable-hour/project-based opportunity. Hours are scheduled in advance based on client engagements; there is no guaranteed weekly schedule or minimum number of hours.

What You May Facilitate

Programs may include:

  • Leadership and management development
  • Workplace and interpersonal communication
  • Coaching and feedback
  • Difficult conversations and conflict management
  • Team effectiveness and collaboration
  • Accountability and performance conversations
  • Presentation and public-speaking skills
  • Professional communication and writing
  • Emotional intelligence and self-awareness
  • Change leadership
  • Executive presence
  • Cross-functional communication and relationship building

Kaleidoscope develops structured facilitator guides, participant materials, exercises, scenarios, and learning tools. Facilitators are expected to learn the approved curriculum and deliver it consistently while using professional judgment to respond effectively to participants and the dynamics in the room.

What We Are Looking For

Required

  • 7+ years of experience in leadership development, management development, professional skills training, learning and development, organizational development, or a closely related field
  • Significant experience facilitating instructor-led learning for professional adult audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate interactive learning using discussion, case studies, scenarios, role play, small-group work, reflection, feedback, or similar adult-learning techniques
  • Strong expertise in several of the content areas listed above
  • Excellent communication, presence, group-management, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience delivering both onsite and virtual learning
  • Ability to facilitate established curriculum while engaging participants authentically
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and significant professional experience
  • Ability to travel to client locations throughout the Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland region

Highly Preferred

  • Experience facilitating Federal civilian, Department of Defense, military, state, local government, or other public-sector audiences
  • Experience working with supervisors, managers, senior leaders, and mixed-level groups
  • Experience facilitating across union-represented and non-union workforces
  • Everything DiSC®, Five Behaviors™, Hogan, CliftonStrengths, EQ-i or similar assessment qualification
  • ICF coaching credential, ATD credential, SHRM certification, organizational-development credential, facilitation certification, or relevant graduate degree
  • Experience facilitating difficult conversations, leadership simulations, role plays, or application-based learning
