Job Description



AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in New York, New York October 15-16.  This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027. 

The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm , where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

The interviews will take place at our New York office on Friday.  This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

AECOM  is seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer position to be based in Piscataway, NJ or New York City, NY.

This position is expected to start June 2027.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Builds analytic and design skills.
  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, final working drawings and Geotechnical reports under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Performs Geotechnical investigation collecting and describing soil/rock samples in the field.
  • Creates soil profiles based on data collected during the subsurface investigation program.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems including but not limited to foundation, retaining wall and support of excavation design, slope stability and seepage analysis.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university.

Preferred

Qualifications

:

  • Master’s of Geotechnical Engineering
  • EIT
