Hill is looking for a hands-on electrical leader with deep experience delivering complex aviation construction projects. This is an opportunity to support a growing aviation practice in the Western United States, providing electrical oversight on terminals, concourses, airfield facilities, hangars, control towers, baggage handling systems, and supporting infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings a strong field background, a working knowledge of airport operational environments, and the ability to coordinate effectively with owners, design teams, contractors, and airport operations staff in both new construction and live, fully operational airside and landside conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical scopes on aviation projects from preconstruction through closeout, including new ground-up terminals, concourse expansions, airfield electrical work, hangars, and renovations within active airport facilities
  • Coordinate Architects, Engineers, electrical trade contractors, commissioning agents, and airport facility staff to ensure designs meet aviation operational, security, and life-safety requirements
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and schedules to evaluate completeness for the respective phase of design and/or construction
  • Identify schematic and constructability issues across electrical and low-voltage systems and provide solutions through print and schematic review, equipment layout interpretation, and coordination with cross-functional teams
  • Maintain project budget, manage contractor schedules, and report on decisions regarding design, specifications, costs, schedule, scope changes, and risk
  • Develop and manage project schedules using Primavera or comparable scheduling tools, identify the critical path, and manage project dependencies and milestones
  • Oversee work in active aviation environments, including phased shutdowns, additions and replacements to electrical infrastructure in live conditions, and upgrades that protect continuity of airport operations
  • Coordinate with airport authorities and tenants on access control, badging, escort requirements, and work restrictions for airside and secured areas
  • Communicate project expectations clearly to team members, clients, and stakeholders; deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations on a consistent and timely basis

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in construction project management, with substantial electrical scope responsibility
  • Strong electrical background required; Journeyman Wireman certification (NECA/NJATC/IBEW) or equivalent trade credential is highly preferred
  • Experience working within active, operational airport environments, including coordination of phased shutdowns and work in secured/airside areas
  • Working knowledge of electrical and low-voltage systems, including submittal review, equipment layout, gear coordination, and schematic correlation
  • Familiarity with airport-specific systems such as airfield lighting, baggage handling power and controls, security and access control, and fire alarm/life safety is a plus
  • Knowledge of local and national electrical and building codes, NFPA-70E electrical safety, OSHA construction safety standards, ADA requirements, and applicable FAA standards
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact with airport operations staff, owner representatives, and C-Suite level clients
  • OSHA 30 certification required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance and airport-issued credentials is required
  • Must be willing to work full time onsite in Phoenix, AZ
