The Lutheran Home is looking for a Dining Services Coordinator to join our caring assisted living community. If you love creating a welcoming dining experience, supporting a small, close-knit team, and brightening residents’ days, this is a role where your work truly makes a difference. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Serve as a working supervisor by participating in meal service while leading daily dining operationsCreate staff schedules, assign tasks, and ensure coverage for all meal servicesSupervise and coach staff, monitor performance, and address day-to-day operational issuesOversee proper portioning and service of meals according to diet orders and resident preferencesEnsure compliance with food safety, sanitation, labeling, rotation, and storage standardsMaintain a clean, organized kitchen and dining environmentCommunicate food needs and quantities, and promptly address concerns to ensure meals are prepared and delivered as requiredFoster a positive, team-oriented environment
Schedule: Full-time, scheduled within kitchen operating hours of 6:00 a.m - 6:30 p.m. Shifts will vary and may include early or later shifts during the week, as well as weekends and holidays, based on coverage needs.
Skills and Qualifications:Minimum age of 18 with a high school diploma or equivalentExperience in dining services, food service, or hospitality; senior living or healthcare experience preferredKnowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) preferredStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to lead daily operations and support team members effectivelyAbility to lift and carry food items and supplies as neededComfortable using basic technology for scheduling or meal trackingFlexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysSelf-directed, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision
