Overview

Agile Business Concepts is seeking multiple qualified full-time Armed Security Guards in support of the U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Earth Resources Observation Science (EROS) Center .

Security personnel will provide continuous protective services 24 hours a day, 365 days per year , ensuring the safety and security of personnel, facilities, and assets.

Place of Performance / Hours of Operation

Services will be performed at the:
USGS EROS Facility
Sioux Falls, SD 57198

General Responsibilities

The Armed Security Guard will maintain a secure environment in which employees and visitors can conduct business with confidence and safety.

• Attend roll call prior to duty for post assignments and briefings
• Ensure proper relief of post before departure or breaks
• Enforce security regulations and procedures to prevent breaches
• Assess situations and determine appropriate response, including escalation when necessary
• Monitor and control access points, including screening visitors, employees, and service personnel
• Inspect incoming vehicles for proper authorization and credentials
• Monitor surveillance systems, including cameras, alarms, and building automation systems
• Conduct spot checks of employee property and verify identification credentials
• Perform indoor and outdoor roving patrols to inspect facilities and government property
• Serve as first responder to incidents, emergencies, and security events
• Screen delivery vehicles, inspect mail and packages, and operate x-ray scanning equipment
• Maintain physical readiness and required training certifications
• Safely handle, clean, and maintain firearms in accordance with regulations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• Minimum of one (1) year of security experience or relevant military service
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Valid state driver’s license required
• Strong communication and situational awareness skills
• Ability to meet physical fitness and medical standards

Required Training & Certifications

• Firearms Training and Qualification (DHS/FPS standards)
• CPR / AED / First Aid Certification
• Security systems and safety training
• Vehicle operation training
• Additional government-mandated training as required

Security Clearance Requirements

Employment is contingent upon:

• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening
• Ability to pass a federal background investigation
• Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Department of the Interior Public Trust clearance

The background investigation will include review of employment, criminal, financial, and personal history.
